It seems that the obvious answer to "Why isn't the Phototron (assuming
it works at all) taking over agriculture?" is that it yields "170 to
227 grams" every "45 days" with an electricity cost of "only 4 pounds
sterling per month".  Well, kids, there's few crops which cost 6
pounds per 200 grams...
