JAHAYES@MIAMIU.BITNET (Josh Hayes) (11/14/90)
I remember this thread popped up a few weeks ago, and it turns out there's a nice little article about the current state of gerontology in the November 2 issue of _Science_ (the one with the possum on the cover, awwwww, in't e cuuuute?). First, there's a sort of general interest approach article, pages 622-625, and there's a rather more technical article in the journal proper, reference as follows: Olshansky, S. Jay, Bruce A. Carnes and Christine Cassel. 1990. In search of Methuselah: estimating the upper limits to human longevity. _Science_ 250: 634-640. In case anyone is still interested.....by the way, the authors say it looks bad if you want to get expected life duration of over 85 years.....
