[sci.bio] "animal rights" protests

At UCSB we've had another barrage of "Animal Rights" protests during the
local chapter of Animal Emancipation's annual "Lab Animal Liberation" week.

I am interested to hear from other people at other campuses to find out
how these type of protests are elsewhere...

We started a local chapter of CFAAR, a pro-research organization this year,
and we have been quite effective (IMHO) so far in dealing with the protests
and accompanying media. However, the local activists are planning a protest
for friday, and they will probably go all out then (ie: break into labs, or
harrass individual researchers; and get arrested).

I'm not intending to start a flame about research animals; this is NOT the
place for that.. I simply want to find out how other biological/biomedical
researchers/organizations/departments are dealing with these actions.
