I recently sent out an RFC announcement to a long mailing list, and as expected received numerous messages from various mailers daemons about things that did not work. The largest group of these messages were from the mailer on my home system complaining that a few destination hosts were down every time it tried to deliver the mail for three days. The people who have mailboxes on these hosts might consider moving to more reliable hosts. This time the hosts in question were: MIT-ML, SRI-UNIX, AMES-TSS, and LL. --jon. -------

SRI-Unix seems to be answering for SRI-SPRM for some reason. I have sent there system (by hand) mail about the problem per our users complaints (since we have users getting mail from them...) and we have a policy now of depending on NIC to have the correct information about hosts. -Rudy

SRI-UNIX's Imp port is broken, and it is temporaryilly using the port assigned to sprm. We hope the change is not long-lived enough to announce to any but the most prolific of those sending mail to SRI-UNIX. Since they are the primary gateway from usenet, its nic to have them up somewahere... BillW, Postmaster, SRI
