[net.mail.headers] UUCP style From lines

I am trying to bring sendmail up at stolaf and am having problems with
the UUCP from lines.  I can't seem to get sendmail to either (a) keep the
old From lines or (b) build a From line with what is on the From: line.
I am using 4.2 Mail as rmail.  Can any one out there give me some help?
