[net.mail.headers] list moving

CENT@mit-ai.ARPA (Pandora B. Berman) (05/01/86)

The HEADER-PEOPLE mailing list has moved (back) to MIT-AI, also known now
as AI.AI.MIT.EDU. Recent mail to the list lives in the file
KSC;HEADER MINS on AI, while older archives are in VAFB;HEADER MINS09
through MINS14, also on AI. These files are trivially accessible over the
Arpanet via FTP; we regret that this is not of much help to those list
members not on the Arpanet.

Please remember to address your add/remove/change requests to
HEADER-PEOPLE-REQUEST@AI, not to the main list.

This move, by the way, is indeed to be taken as a sign that COMSAT, the ITS
mailer daemon, is fixed. It no longer has to keep the host tables in its
address space, which leaves all that room to be taken up by other data,
like longer messages. A lot of mail, especially to lists like this which
live on ITSs, has been sidetracked over the past few months while the local
hackers were fixing COMSAT. We expect to start sending out this backlog
during the next week; the process will take several days, in order to avoid
overloading COMSAT or overworking us. An ArpaNet-BBOARDS msg explaining
this retransmission will be broadcast sometime in the next few days..
