How many people, when they see a sign like "Ye Olde Shoppe" pronounce 'ye' with the y sound instead of the th sound? It seems that so many people kept pronouncing it wrong that some of the newer dictionaries are starting to accept the y sound.

It never occured to me to pronounce "Ye" as "The". I would be interested in hearing more about that from the author of that article. Michael Wagnerr, UTCS
