I took a statistics class which was taught by a professor from
Germany.  His accent was not extremely heavy, but he did mispronounce
a few words such that they sounded like other English words.
The most remarkable of these was the word height.  To exemplify, let
me quote a something he said one day, "This is a plot of the hate of
the fathers plotted against the hate of their sons."

That reminds me of a Physics Prof that I had in college.  We were
trying to study General Relativity and the prof kept commenting about
how a particle was mode-ified while passing through a field.  None of
use could figure out what "mode" he was talking about.  Only much
later did we realize that the poor particle was being "modified".
Sigh...
