I took a statistics class which was taught by a professor from Germany. His accent was not extremely heavy, but he did mispronounce a few words such that they sounded like other English words. The most remarkable of these was the word height. To exemplify, let me quote a something he said one day, "This is a plot of the hate of the fathers plotted against the hate of their sons." That reminds me of a Physics Prof that I had in college. We were trying to study General Relativity and the prof kept commenting about how a particle was mode-ified while passing through a field. None of use could figure out what "mode" he was talking about. Only much later did we realize that the poor particle was being "modified". Sigh... Jim Jenal BTL/CB (but not for long...)
