[net.nlang] sexist language

Andy T's item about fishers reminded me of an cute story (true) i heard
a while back. It seems that there was a foundary where castings were made.
It was one persons' job to remove the casting from under the pour spout
with a lond handled hook, thus the job description "hookers." When women
started applying for joba, the factory management refused to change the
job name because the union insisted on it while the union refused because
it was in the contract that way.
