just out of curiosity, do those south of the border consider their
language to be a "different" one or just a variant of english???
When dealing with some Oklahomans/Mississipians (sic??) a while ago
i found an INSISTENCE that "english/canadian" spellings (such as colOUr)
were WRONG rather than just a legitimate variant.
I can accept this if every person down there called the language "american"
but when they say they speak "english" they shouldn't make out they
are thee authority on spelling.
