Re Michael Wagner's mention of a slide projector with special controls for the teaching of speed, high-comprehension reading (net.nlang, Article #155): This sounds like a Renshaw projector; dating from about the end of WWII, Dr. Renshaw proposed teaching reading in precisely this manner. Robert Heinlein makes much of this in several of his "classic" books, such as the juvenile novel, "Citizen of the Galaxy". I've never looked up the Renshaw reference myself, although I've been told by some educators that Renshaw is real. This surely seems to substantiate it. Just a comment.... Dave Ihnat ihuxl!ignatz
