I posted an article several days ago with the reference. First-graders may read like fifth-graders (not "five" graders as I said before) if the read using the i/t/a (initial teaching alphabet) By the way, in my country it is considered impolite to ridicule a foreigner's grammar or pronunciation. But on the other hand, people aren't too polite here, even with fellow North Americans. Pablo Alliende.

Pablo, in this country too it is considered impolite to ridicule a foreigner's grammar or pronunciation - but some people don't know this yet. Count a blow for our `modern' education system, not against North America itself. Ian U of Toronto Comp Servs

I would normally consider it bad manners to make fun of a foreigner's pronunciation/grammar, but when that same foreigner is trying to tell ME how to use MY language, then I would consider it appropriate to point out his misusage of the language. =Spencer
