I am assisting with some research on the effects of aging on human memory.
So far, the results of our experiments have been quite interesting. We are
now developing another experiment, and we need to generate materials which
will be used in the experiment.
We need pairs of questions that are very similar, but vary in some small
way. Some examples will show what we need:
How many animals of each type did Noah bring aboard the Ark ? Two
How many animals of each type did Moses bring aboard the Ark ? Two
Leonid Brezhnev was the leader of what Communist country ? Russia
Leonid Brezhnev was the leader of what Capitalist country ? Russia
In each pair of questions, the differences are in words or phrases that
are semantically close, or related somehow. Even with the incorrect word,
it is still possible to get the idea behind the question and therefore
answer it correctly.
