In my copy of H&R the phrase "change in displacement" does not appear
in the sections defining velocity, speed and acceleration. Rather, they
refer to " The DISPLACEMENT VECTOR describing the CHANGE in position ...",
and "... the displacement in a small interval of time ..." etc.

I guess Curtis just wasn't careful in transcribing these definitions. (ahem)
