Thomas Crapper is/was indeed a real person, the inventor of the flush toilet, as a matter of fact. Mid to late 1800's, I believe. His invention used to be called a crapper at one time. Where, oh where, would the language be without him? Chuck

There is even a book about SIR Thomas Crapper, titled, apropriately enough, FLUSHED WITH SUCCESS
