[net.nlang] Spanish and double negatives

hope@gatech.UUCP (08/07/83)

Someone recently posted an article about Creole and double negatives, and
used Portuguese as another example. [Was it you, Dave Sherman?]
					,
In Spanish, for example: Juan no hablo con nadie.
John did not speak with anyone.

To mention a Spanish example after a Portuguese one, of course, is redundant.
Both languages (among others) belong to the "Romance Languages", and have
the same Latin base.

"Then why the hell did I post this article, huh?"
