In the "Explanatory Notes" of Websters 7th Collegiate Dictionary under section 4.5 we find: "The principal parts of all irregular standard verbs are given in this dictionary. These principal parts, besides the main entry, are the past, the past participle if different from the past, and the present participle. They are printed in that order in boldface: [examples given here - lhm]" Under "lightning" we find: "lightning (vi) lightninged; lightning: ..." So it's "It lightninged last night.", "It has lightninged before.", and "It is lightning today too." Lew Mammel, Jr. ihuxr!lew
