The "Terminat" quote is from Marlowe's Doctor Faustus:

	Faustus is gone,
	Regard his hellish fall
	Whose fiendful fortune doth exhort the wise
	Only to wonder at unlawful things
	Whose deepness doth entice such forward wits
	To practice more than heavenly power permits.

	Terminat hora diem
	Terminat auctor opus

I learned this from Louis Untermeyer's Concise Treasury of Great Poems, a
real mainstay for me.
