I would like to see a newsgroup for net.metaphor.
I am collecting metaphors and analogies of the following forms:

x is y (truth is beauty, beauty is but a flower, truth is the safest lie)
x is like y (a metaphysician is like a blind man in a dark room)
x is the y of z (the body is the socket of the soul)

and kinship metaphors, like "Death is the mother of beauty".
