[net.nlang] More retronyms

msb@lsuc.UUCP (Mark Brader) (03/28/85)

Okay, here is the list of all retronyms I was mailed. For those who
missed the first posting, a retronym is a noun fitted with an adjective
it never used to need but now can't get along without (because the default
meaning of the noun has changed).

Thanks to ihuxb!wfmans, aecom!werner (Craig Werner), rochester!FtG,
dartvax!andyb (Andy Behrens), and me. Thank you also for mailing to me rather
than posting followups. I have edited or deleted a few contributions
that were not really retronyms.
