[net.nlang] Lets finish off the pledge of allegiance ...

     Collectively, we have

I led the pidgeons to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the republic of Richard Stands
	one nation, under god, undivisible
with liberty and just rice for all

cjh@petsd.UUCP (Chris Henrich) (04/04/85)

[]
I led the pigeons to the flag of the United States
of America, and to the public for Richard Sands,
one nation under cod and a vegetable,
with liver, tea, and juice dish for all.

(It's been a hard week...)

It seems that, while children are still acquiring language,
their "error detectors" (to use no coarser phrase) are undeveloped
or suppressed - otherwise, hearing a new word or construction,
a child would think "that sounds wring" and fail to learn it.

Regards,
Chris
