*** REPulsE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESS ***
I am reminded that reporters had great fun reporting on the
fact that the first two letters of ESSEX HOUSE went out one
night. (This hotel overlooks Central Park in NYC.)

Hot_l Baltimore, also, comes to mind. (TV series and all --
a great show!)

I, also, remember that it was reported that an older woman
had inverted the first letter on her new car - a Buick
Wildcat to make it read - Mildcat. This was a few years
ago.

Also,
Many years ago, my high school band marched down the field
at halftime and spelled HELL - while 1/5 of the band was
still milling around the goalposts. The drum major
'finally' realized the oversight, stopped the music, and
waved the other members onto the field. Of course, we now
spelled OHELL - and of course we finally got it right and
spelled HELLO .

(I've oftened wondered how many other bands did this.)

I, also, remember when the National Guard used to put up
posters saying: "Sleep well tonight. Your National Guard is
awake." only to find the word 'awake' marked out (while they
slept ?).

The missing neon stories remind me of a sign I saw at a service station:

"FREE BRAKE AND FRONT END INSPECTION" with the "KE" missing.
