[net.nlang] request for technical term denoting organic fat

humbert@ihlpa.UUCP (shachter) (08/29/85)

I thank the readers of net.med and of net.nlang for their replies to
an earlier request for a technical term. I now present another request.

Our bodies store fat in two places. We have fat underneath our skin,
and we have fat around certain internal organs. I would like to know
a word that denotes organic fat, as opposed to subcutaneous fat. If you
know more than one such term, please mail me all the words you know that
denote different kinds of fat. As I have said before, I expect that such
words are polysyllabic and Greek, but any words are welcome as long as
they precisely denote organic fat.

Thank you in advance for your help.
