I just got through posting something to net.cooks that immediately became a major source of embarrassment when I realised (after it was too late, of course) that the first sentence contained a prepositional phrase which could be taken to be misplaced. One can read the sentence a certain way and get hilarious results. I thought I would share it with you cunning linguists: "A few months ago my wife and I ate some chocolate drops from a fancy restaurant's dessert bar that put us under the table after only a couple of bites." The moral: Next time you eat at a fancy restaurant, watch out. If its dessert bar bites you, it could put you under the table. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Dave Kirby ( ...!ihnp4!akgub!cylixd!dave) (The views expressed herein do not necessarily reflect those of RCA Cylix.
