[net.nlang] ASCII IPA symbols wanted

chai@utflis.UUCP (H. Chai) (12/09/85)

I'm working on a project involving synthetic speech and I'm using the
Naval Research Lab letter-to-sound rules. The output, however, is in
their own version of phonetic symbols, e.g. "yuck" would be /yAXk/.
Yuck! I've much more comfortable working with IPA symbols. Is there
a "standard" way of representing the IPA set using ASCII characters?
If so, can some kind person send me a copy *BY E-MAIL* ???
Thanks in advance !!
