Well, the Dakotas certainly existed as a tribe of Native Americans. As for States of the Union, doesn't Prof. Peter Schickele, exponent of that obscure (and mediocre) composer, P. D. Q. Bach, hail from the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople? --Barry Kort
