About 3 weeks ago I suggested a newsgroup for radio controlled airplanes.
The response has been fairly favorable, with comments that the discussion
should not be limited to just airplanes.
Because no previous discussion relating to RC has taken place on the net,
several people expressed concern that this would just be a "flash-in-the-
pan" newsgroup, with interest dying soon after formation. To test this
idea, we will post our discussions in net.ham-radio for awhile to see just
how much hard-core interest there really is. If discussion continues for
an extended period of time, we will be able to form our own group.
If anyone (especially the regulars in net.ham-radio) objects to this plan,
speak now or forever (till we get our own group) hold your peace.
Anyone with an interest in RC or modeling in general is encouraged to take
part in these discussions. With over 100,000 people involved worldwide in
RC aircraft, I expect good results on our net.
