<----------------------- this line intentionally blank ----------------------> A group of pilots here in Southern N.H. started talking about safety at one of our local airports, Boire Field, Nashua. There are several flight schools at the field, including Daniel Webster College, and the standard of safety has fallen over the past year. Since the field is uncontrolled, many of us who frequent the place have come close to being killed by others in the air due to what seems to be careless instruction and/or a general lack of good "pilot craft". While we could call in the feds, we would prefer a more self policing attitude on the field. Therefore, we are proposing the formation of a Pilots' Association for those who fly there often or who use a plane based at the field. The purpose of the association would be to promote safety, good communication of local information and general social activity. It would not be a "flying club". I would be interested in hearing from anyone in the New England area with an interest in either joining, or, for those with some spare time, in getting the association started. I would also like to here from ANYONE out there who has been a member in, or involved in setting up, a similar local organization. bob (decvax!bob)
