Discussing the effect of an EMP on an X29 is meaningless. If EMPs (nuclear weapons) are being used, then there will be nothing left to defend against enemy planes. Imagine a placard near every launch control for every nuclear missile (EMP or not): "Launch to destroy world" Get the picture? Sean

The EMP problem can be overcome with the proper grounding and shielding of the control systems, packaging, and cabling. Unfortunately, the EMP test platforms (INCA, et al.) don't really give *that* good a simulation. The biggest problems seem to be the SGEMP and HEMP effects on the communication links--UHF/AM, JTIDS, etc. Happy hunting. kurt
