I to am curious about non-standard aviational devices, such as the flying saucer looking machine which used numerous ducted fans. I have seen only one picture of this interesting machine. It was in a Neman- Marcus (sp?) catalog, with the affordable price of $500K for the small one and $1000k for the larger one. It has been along time since I have seen or read this material. Can anyone update me? Or might anyone have the old catalog? I don't plan on buying one, but would like to find out who invented it, and if they ever sold one? The interesting thing is, if I remember correctly, it looked just like the flying saucers we see in the movies (and in real life?). One last bit, As I remember, this used some sort of jet propelled ducted fans which pointed straight down, I don't know what it used for forward thrust. There must have been at least 6 maybe 8 fans, I guess my real question is, Does anyone out there know if this thing ever flew? Thanks
