[net.aviation] Generator needed ....

<-------  this line for the line-eater  ------>

Well, it seems that too many hot-shot pilots these days don't spend enough
time looking for other planes, they just watch for flashing beacons (sometimes)
and listen on the radio (again, sometimes). After nearly getting rammed by
high performance spam-can drivers who weren't looking (even when I see them
it takes a while for my Luscombe to get out of the way), I've decided it's
time to invest in lights and a beacon.

My problem is that you can't put a generator on an A65 engine. Therefore it's
got to be either a battery or wind powered generator. Having decided to put
up with the noise and vibration, I'm going for the generator.

One problem: the only supplier I know of the (WagAero) has just stopped
supplying them!! WagAero used to be very helpful in these situations, but
recently they seem to have become as unhelpful as possible - the order and
customer support people just won't go and get someone who KNOWS and could
HELP. Sigh .... sounds just like the No. 2 computer company ...

Anyway, if anyone out there knows where I can get one, or has one they'd
like to sell, please get in touch with me soon. The Luscombe's annual is
due next month and the plan was to fit the lights/beacon/generator as part
of that operation.
