Just a bit of information that I figured would be of interest.  A
few weeks ago someone asked about cost of operation of air carrier
aircraft.  Well, the following data is from the May "Air Transport
World" that came in yesterday.

I've been informed that the reason for the low salaries is that
Peoples Express employs only NON-UNION crew, including pilots. As
well, various people in the transportation industry have told me that
PE's policies (I'm not sure exactly which) have ticked off travel
agents and other airlines. The net result, I was told, is
that virtually nobody in the
industry will do normal referrals to them (such as booking you on
their flights (unless you specifically ask for them), or exchanging for
a PE ticket if your flight is delayed, etc.). 

An EX-Peoples Express passenger (for reasons solely that their late
arrivals and departures have caused me much grief).
