Dropped by Deer Valley airport (DVT) yesterday. DVT is the main GA reliever port for Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX). There are no FBO's left in business at DVT. Unless you count the City of Phoenix, which operates the primary (now the only) fuel sales concession on the field, and collects tiedown/hanger fees. Oh yes, they still enforce the rule that only mechanics employed by DVT FBOs are allowed to do maintenance work at DVT. :-{ -- Doug Pardee -- CalComp -- {seismo!noao,decvax!noao,ihnp4}!terak!doug

Another one of "those" airports. I have heard of such rules being over turned by contacting the FAA. It seems that the FAA can use Federal airport support funds to apply pressure to remove such silly protectionist rules. Anybody heard any similar tales that might prove of help to users of such restrictive airport authorities?? -- bob (decvax!ulose!bob)
