I believe there is only one "Flying Belt" currently in operation,
it was designed and built by Nelson Tyler of American Flying Belts Inc. in
Van Nuys Calif. It is flown by Bill Sauter.
A film clip of this device in action is used on the leader for the TV
series "Fall Guy". It was also flown into the Los Angeles Coliseum for the
opening ceremonies of the 1984 Olympic Games.
The "Tyler Rocket Belt" has an unfueled weight of 85 pounds and a
total flight time of 21 seconds. During this 21 seconds 5 gallons (55 lbs.)
of hydrogen peroxide fuel is used.
Nelson Tyler is currently developing a new "Jet Belt" that promises
vast improvements over the current design. The new device will be powered by
two arrays of 8 pulse jet motors. Each motor is 6 inches in diameter and
28 inches long, pulses at 230 cycles per second, weighs 3.5 pounds, and
delivers 22 pounds of thrust.

The preliminary specifications for the new "Jet Belt" are as follow:
Belt overall size:	30 inches long, 56 inches wide, 42 inches high
Belt dry weight:	85 pounds
Fuel weight: 72 pounds (unleaded gasoline)
Pilot maximum weight:	175 pounds
Maximum flight time:	7 minutes

This Flying Belt is being designed with the goal of offering it to
the general public at a "realistic price".

  ...........

How 'bout a specification for, "loud". If you've ever heard ONE of the
pulse-jets used in model aviation, think of how loud EIGHT of these are
going to be. Especially strapped to your back, 15 inches from your ears...

Q. Are you a Jet-Belt pilot?
A. Ehhh? What did you say?
