Following the net discussion of whether the Orion was still being manufactured, this quote from Flight International 26 Oct: "...Japan's National Defence Council has approved a plan to extend the procurement by a further 25 Orions, increasing the Japanese fleet to 100 by the early 1990s. ... The aircraft will be built under Lockheed licence by Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries at its Gifu production plant."
