Been seeing previews for two movies that might be of interest to
net.aviationers...

TOP GUN: Looks like a Navy version of the "RED FLAG- THE ULTIMATE GAME" TV
movie. Incidentally, the movie Art Scholl was filming for when he was
killed.

IRON EAGLE: Flying-crazy teen's Air Force father is shot down and captured
by a Libya-oid country. Teen conspires with old AF Colonel (played by Lou
Gossett) to "borrow" two F-16s for a rescue mission. VERY good combat
footage shown in preview... Isreali Kfirs used for MIGS, lotsa low-level
maneuvering, etc. Incidentally, IAF did supply all aircraft used, and was
filmed at IAF Air Base. They had to hurredly remove USAF markings when the
Isreali squadron was scrambled for a mission over Lebanon...

Once I see these two movies, I pity any poor 152 pilot caught in 09T's
patrol zone...:-).

Oh, there are no fighter pilots down in Hell,
Yes, there are no fighter pilots down in Hell,
The place is full of queers, navigators, bombardiers,
But there are no fighter pilots down in Hell!
