I am a new member to the Aviation Club at Bell Labs in Naperville and find it discuraging that there are very few activities for the members. There are approximately 100 members in the club and if an activity were planed at least 10% of the members would show up. There needs to be some input from the membership as to the type of activities the members want. Lets get some discussion going!! How about a LUNCHWAFFA? Maybe once a month on a weekend we could fly somewhere for lunch. Members could get togeather and split the cost of the flight or whoever pays for the plane that week gets a free lunch on his passengers. Everyone knows that flying is very expensive and if two pilots could get togeather they could cut there costs in half. One pilot could fly one way and the other could fly on the way back. One pilot could practice being under the hood while the other pilot acted as lookout (this would also cut down the cost of instrument training since you would not have to pay for an instructor while you were just practicing). How about a match up service for pilots? The club could put two pilots intouch with each other for the purpose of flying togeather to help reduce the cost. How about a listing of available rental aircraft in the area giving costs, condition, availability, and hospitality of the owners. Lets get some suggestions flowing out there and lets do some flying!! Lee Rosenbaum IX 1M-313 ixe5m!leer
