I'm considering buying a PA-28-140 (1969) with about 2100 hours TTSN & 2100 SMOH. King 360 channel radio, elt, about 9/10 for interior 7/10 for exterior. What are $US prices running for something like this? Thanks for the advice.

First, you have some discrepancies in your description. You say the airframe has 2100 hours total time since new (TTSN), but the engine has 2100 since major overhaul (SMOH). I suspect that the engine is also 2100 TTSN. If that is the case you can overhaul the engine for about $4000. If the engine actually has 2100 since a major, you may actually have to replace the engine. Someone out there in NETLAND can probably supply a more accurate answer on that aspect of your problem. A basic 1969 PA-28 140, with mid-time engine should retail for about $10,000. You could go up or down a thousand or two depending on the "other" factors (paint, interior, radios). With a run-out engine and no significant avionics you should be talking some real low dollars like around $6,000. Good luck, and let us know how you do. Ted Spitzmiller
