A recent posting here mentioned the Narco HT-830 hand-held portable transceiver, and that it can be *used* for navigation, not just pick up the nav signals. Since I am about to get my IFR rating, and I do not want to fly in IMC without a back-up radio, I am interested in comments from those who have used the HT-830. Flying did a review of hand-held's, and they seem to have liked it, but I'd like to get some more opinions. Also, if you especially liked or disliked some other radio, I'd be interested as well. Please e-mail to me; if response is sufficient, I'll summarize for the net. Thanks in advance!
