If you should encounter strange behaiour in the printed output of the ms command, there is a program that will check your file for errors. The program is called 'checkms'. To use it, just type: checkms filename It will report the line numbers of any keeps, footnotes, displays and other paired intsructions which are not terminated (e.g. .KE, .FE, .DE etc.). The symptom of such an error is usually the dis- appearance of the end of the document in the printout. Although checkms will not find all errors, it is often successful and is relatively fast, so it should be tried first before you spend time scanning the entire file for errors.
