[general] two new ms instructions

heather@utzoo.UUCP (Heather Trueman) (03/25/86)

There is a new `ms' instruction that sets the line length of the body of a
document and the line length of headers and footers to the *same* amount.
The `.SE LL' instruction is followed by a numerical argument, as in the
example below, to set the line length of the text and headers and footers.
The following would set the line length to 7.5 inches:

   .SE LL 7.5i

Note that the `.LL' instruction still works as it always has (i.e., it sets
only the line length of the body of a document).

Another new instruction, `.SE FNNUM', allows you to specify the number
to be given to the next automatically numbered footnote (i.e., the number
which is produced by `\*F' and `.FN'). The following would reset the
number of the next footnote to 1:

   .SE FNNUM 1
