A couple of people have had disks infected by the "stoned" virus. So far, the following "public" PCs have been found to be contaminated: 1) the AT in room 507 nearest the wall (Grad Student Lab); 2) the AT in the 214 Undergraduate computing facility - third from the front of the room, window side. Anyone who has used either of the infected machines with a personal diskette is recommended to pick up a copy of a virus checker. To get a copy of the software, bring me a disk in whatever size/density you favour. As well, I'll leave the same software in the C: directory on the 336 public AT, in the directory "NOVIRUS". Copy that directory's content to a bootable diskette that you are sure is clean, e.g. formatted on a "known to be clean" machine (e.g. 336 public AT), or from original media. Instructions on how to use the software are in the *.doc files in the same directory("C:\NOVIRUS"). You can always contact me if you have questions about the procedure. --- -- +==========================================================================+ + Stephen Smith || uunet!attcan!utzoo!steve steve@zoo.utoronto.ca + +==========================================================================+
