Following is a list of seminars from the Dept. of Computer Science for the week of ***May 24th*** Tuesday, May 25th, 3:00 P.M., MP134: Prof. Tony Chan, Yale University, "Numerical continuation methods for non-linear eigenvalue problems". ***Abstract*** The computational aspects of continuation procedures for solving nonlinear eigenvalue problems will be surveyed, with emphasis on: 1. linear algebra tenchniques 2. computation of singular points, and 3. step-length algorithms. Wednesday, May 26th, 4:00 P.M., MP134: Dr. John Reif, Harvard Univ., "The power of probablistic choice in parallel computations".
