Cut us over to the B version of news, after fixing a few minor problems and converting rnews and send. "news" proper is now a tiny shellfile invoking readnews the right way. Old news is "oldnews". People have been given .newsrc files with the appropriate option lines for their choice of newsgroups, based on their old subscription lists. To change your subscription, edit the file ".newsrc" in your home directory -- don't use "news -s". The only major differences that are user-visible will be slightly more verbose output, output grouped by newsgroup, and generally better performance. Documentation (both manual pages and more verbose forms) is coming. Newsgroups(1) is broken temporarily, as is the There-is-news message on login.
