The line printer is sick. It won't stay READY. Originally it looked like it wouldn't come ready at all, which led me to suspect interface or cable. (The cable does have a loose connection where it enters the switchbox, but that doesn't seem to be the problem.) It now appears that after a rest it is willing to wake up for a page or two, but then it goes unready again. Looks like something wrong in the printer itself. A thermal cutoff somewhere?
