Star Ring, the 05s, and miscellaneous oddments are now run through the power controller box Wern got for us. Furthermore, said box is now connected properly to be remote-controlled from the cpu power switch. The net result is that the extra power switch on the lower left of the main rack assembly is now superfluous: the keyswitch on the 44 controls all the power (except for the tape drive and the disk drive, which have their own power switches). The power cable from the new box is currently draped over the floor in a most unsightly fashion. Unless something blows up in the next few days, I will move it under the floor on Monday. In a pinch, the procedure for moving back to the old setup is to move all the power plugs from the front of the new box back to the rear of the old gray panel (the rightmost [as seen from the back] 8 outlets), unplug the new box (in the corner under the modem shelf), and plug the old panel back in (same corner, the two black cords now lying on the floor).
