Getty(8) has been modified to turn on ERBLANK by default. It has also been modified to pick up the erase character from the termcap "kb" entry, but this particular mod isn't in full effect yet, because login(1) does not respect getty's choice and promptly sets the erase character back to backspace. This is a problem only on a few things (like the new Ampex terminal) and I will fix it shortly -- login really has no business messing with that setting anyway, since getty does a more informed job on it.
