[hacknews] no-password logins tidied up

I tidied up the machinery behind the no-password logins (who, termtest,
etc.) somewhat, and also created a couple of new ones: date and ps.

An attempt to coerce login(1) into handling arbitrary shell commands
in the passwd line failed mysteriously; the thing is willing to run
a shell command file, but I had no luck trying to get an "sh -c" to
run a command directly from the passwd line.  "0: not a variable"
and suchlike bizarre messages from the attempt to run "df -p ; sleep 10".
