Well, there is both good news and bad news, but for a change most of
it is good. Despite a rather late arrival (the Micos man had trouble
finding the place), the Emulex DH went in smoothly and seems to function.
We could not boot the Micos man's diagnostic tape, for reasons unknown,
but the CS11/H2 (the official designation for the Emulex DH) has quite
a bit of internal self-test stuff and it claims it's ok. Well, within
one limitation: due to a short-shipping error, the third distribution
panel is not hooked up yet -- the turkeys shipped only one daisy-chain
cable rather than the two we need. The Micos man says he will bring a
second daisy-chain cable in tomorrow.
We don't have a Unix configured for the Emulex yet, so we don't know
absolutely and for sure that it is working, but I'll take care of this
within the next day or two.
