The format of Sanders header/trailer pages has been changed slightly, because we suspect that our persistent problems with small misalignments may be cured by avoiding printing in the immediate vicinity of a page crease. This means that the alignment marks had to go. There is a new alignment mark provided, however: an underscore on the first line of the trailer-page terminating bar lines up with the very top of the curved metal plate that tops the printhead mechanism. This is a little deceptive because the Sanders doesn't do the final newline motion (where the page-end alignment marks used to be) until it is put off-line, but once it is off-line the alignment mark is in the right place. -- Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!henry

The changes to the spr(1) header/trailer pages have been withdrawn. It hasn't helped the vertical-misalignment problem, and the Sanders has begun to display other antisocial behavior. It's not entirely certain that the latter is connected with the change, but the timing is suspicious. -- Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!henry
